Experience the luminous world of St. Brigid of Ireland, one of the most beloved figures in Irish spiritual tradition. In this immersive 1.5-hour lecture, we will explore Brigid’s life, mythic origins, and enduring presence through original photos and videos shot at her sacred sites, including her holy wells, the fire temple, and the Abbey of Kildare, as well as the landscape surrounding her legendary birthplace. We will trace Brigid’s story across the centuries, from her early historical footprint as a Christian abbess and companion of St. Patrick, to her deeper roots in the ancient Irish goddess Brigid, the fiery patroness of poetry, healing, smithcraft, and the eternal flame. Together, we will look at how the saint and the goddess intertwine: two faces of a single Irish archetype. We will also work together to weave the traditional St Brigid’s cross!
