Become A Part of History In Detroit - Purchase your family’s or organization’s “Place On The Plaza!”— Corktown, Detroit

Constructed in Corktown, the site has been consecrated and is known as UIS Irish Plaza. Now completed, drive by to see the beautiful work at 6th Street and Michigan Ave. There is still time to have your name, or the name of a loved one, included in the installed set of paving stones. It would make a great gift idea. You can even receive a letter from the UIS Plaza committee announcing the gift!

You still may have a chance to make your mark and become part of history. The United Irish Societies sponsored the creation of the memorial to the Irish in Detroit. A "gathering place," under the leadership and vision of Ed Neubacher (R.I.P.) and Mike McGunn, was constructed in Corktown at 6th Street and Michigan Avenue. The site has been consecrated and is known as UIS Irish Plaza. It has become a memorial for past and present members of the Irish community, and the starting point for the St. Patrick's Parade for present and future generations to come.

You can become part of this memorial by purchasing a personalized paver in this historical tribute to the Irish. Please see the order form and brochure for details. Your contribution will be a permanent reminder to all,, that you, your family, organization, or company acknowledges the contribution the Irish community has made to the City of Detroit and the State of Michigan. Purchase your family’s or organization’s “Place On The Plaza!” in Corktown, Detroit
